How it works
First, the seller goes to work to prep their their home into its optimum selling condition, so when hungry, retail buyers looking for a good deal walk through it, they say those 3 magic words: “I love it!” Then, the seller advertises the property at a low opening bid price which attracts motivated, retail buyers. Next, a massive, proactive marketing campaign is implemented to attract and drive interested buyers to a 2-day weekend open house. Interested buyers become bidders. At the end of the open house, the bidders bid against each other and effectively bid up the price until the final high bidder is left. Round Robin auctions are not “absolute” auctions in which sellers must sell to the high bidder; the seller can choose not to sell if he or she does not obtain the price they are looking for.
